Every great platform starts somewhere. Ours started with a belief that debate belongs to everyone. What comes next is everything we’re building to make that belief a reality.

League Analytics Dashboard

Right now league administrators manage their communities largely on instinct. They know their coaches, they know their schools, but the data that tells the full story of their leagues health has never been in one place.

The NGD League Analytics Dashboard changes that.

Every League Admin on the platoform will have access to a private dashboard showing the metrics that matter most to running a thriving debate community such as member growth, tournament participation rates, course completion rates, Merit & Rep activity, and retention data.

Inter-League Rankings

Competition doesn’t stop at the league border and neither should recognition.

This feature will create the first unified competitive leaderboard spanning every league on the platform. For the first time debaters, coaches, and league administrators will be able to see how their community’s top performers compare to the best competitors across every NGD affiliated league in the country.

For debaters: inter-league rankings create a new level of competitive aspiration. Being the first in your league is an achievement. Being ranked among the best across all NGD leagues is a legacy.

For leagues: use this as a recruiting tool. It tells prospective members that your community produces competitive debaters.

Mobile App

A dedicated NGD movile app for iOS and Android is on our long term roadmap. The NGD app will bring the full community experience to your phone with the additions that only a native app can deliver.

Here are some things we are envisioning:

Push notifications: tournament results, debate practice notices, league announcements, and more delivered in real time.

Round timer: a built in debate timer designed for competitors and judges.

Tournament day mode: a streamlined view showing your round assignments, room locations, and judge information.

College Recruiting & Visibility

With member permission, NGD profiles will become a verified competitive portfolio. Visible to college debate programs and scholarship organizations searching for their next generation of competitors. Your Merit rank, tournament results, course completions, and competitive history will speak for you.

Competitive debate develops some of the most sought after skills in higher education. College admissions officers and college debate programs know this. But finding the students who have these skills and the competitive record to profit it has always required navigating a fragmented landscape of regional results, coach referrals, and scattered tournament tabulations.

This feature will change how competitive debaters get discovered.

Volunteer Opportunity

We need volunteers to speed up the momentum and to keep the passion alive. Check out our various councils or simply submit a general interest forum.

Leadership Council

For 18+ only. This team is responsible for mentoring and supporting council leaders, managing the budget, and all other day to day responsibilities.

Term: Two years with possible extensions. 18+ only

Selection: Apply by April 1 and begin by June 1.
